Based on a statistical analysis of the contributing factors and formation law of centrifugal casting defects in the cylinder sleeve of 170 type refrigeration compressor
some technological countermeasures to prevent defects were proposed and investingated. Production tests showed that by means of improved technological measures the casting reject ratio had been cut down from 18.7% ̄22.5% to 2.5 ̄3.7%
the microstructure and mechanical properties of cylinder sleeves were improved
thus a obvious economic benefit had been obtained.
