Ti 48%Al 2%Cr 2%Nb alloy was melted with Induction Skull Melting(ISM) method
and automotive exhaust valves were formed in permanent mold at static and centrifugal conditions. The influences of pouring power on filling capability of alloy and surface quality of castings were concluded by analyzing the valve forming characteristics. Results showed that linear shrinking increased with the increasing of pouring power and could be restrained by centrifugal casting with ISM method. Surface quality was better with pouring power between 200 and 280 kW.
