Abstract

The relationship between mechanical properties and amount of dendrite α as well as the approaches of increasing the amount and improving the morphology of primary α（Al） of the Al Si casting alloys were reviewed briefly. It was proposed that it is possible to improve further the mechanical properties with the increase of the amount of the dendrite α.
