Abstract
Cast iron-hard alloy bimetal was prepared in sand mould. The interface bonding strength of the bimetal casting reached to 757MPa. The interface area consists of cast iron layer
mixed layer
diffusion layer and hard alloy. Metallurgical bonding in interface occurred through the surface layer of hard alloy to be melted with molten iron and in turn the mixture solidified.. The crack mainly occurred in the cast iron layer of the interface area.
