the thickness and immersion time of 08A1 steel strip master and the temperature of cladding liquid brass on the thickness of brass cladding layer by inversion solidification process were investigated systematically. The results showed that the thickness variation of the brass cladding layer involved sequentially in solidification growth
equilibrium holding and remelting stages with increasing in immersion time. Variation of temperature of liquid brass as well as preheating temperature and thickness of steel strip did not change the thickness variation pattern of cladding layer
but affected the holding time at individual stages and thickness of the cladding layer. Increase in the thickness and decrease in preheating temperature of steel strip and decrease in temperature of liquid brass could be beneficial to increasing the cladding thickness.
