Cu-P base master alloy was studied by means of DSC
SEM and OM. The results showed that ternary Cu-16Sn-8P master alloy can be obtained by adding some Sn into binary eutectic Cu-P master alloy. Based on above results a multi-element Cu-P base master alloy with low melting point of 630℃ can be developed. Compared with binary Cu-P base master alloy
the new master alloy possessed better modification effects on hypereutectic Al-24Si alloy
meanwhile
the master alloy have good modification effects on ZL109 alloy also.
