Stainless steel blade of turbine engine with 950mm length and 42 kg weight was manufactured by adopting D-COAT rapidly dried sol silicate instead of sol silicate-ethyl silicate to make compound shell.The rapidly dried mechanism of the D COAT sol silicate and the factors influencing shell mold properties were investigated.The layer-drying time only need 1~2 h under the condition of 30%~40% humidity and 6~8 m/s wind speed due to use soluble high polymeric substance reinforcement in D COAT sol silicate.The D COAT sol silicate has the features of low residual strength and high green strength in shell mold and high temperature strength as well as good permeability
successfully applied for the production of large blade of turbine engine.
