8 were successfully prepared by the wedge-shaped copper mold method. Effects of Nd on glass forming ability (GFA) and thermal stability of Mg65Cu22Ni3Y10 bulk amorphous alloy have been investigated by XRD and DSC. The experimental results reveal that 2% or 4% Nd addition (atom) can improve both glass forming ability and thermal stability of the alloy
with 2% Nd addition
the highest undercooled liquid region (61.5K) and thermal stability are observed. With 5% Nd addition
although the narrowest under-cooled liquid region occurs in the alloy
the best GFA such as approximately temperature of 0.568 and critical thickness
