Abstract
New super-high strength Al alloy ingot was fabricated by horizontal continuous casting with low frequency alternative electromagnetic field. Effects of electromagnetic field on quality of aluminum alloy ingot were observed by the metallography method. The results reveal that electromagnetic field can improve the quality of the ingot through reducing macro-segregation and refining micro-macro structure. The yield strength
tensile strength and elongation of the LFEHC new super-high aluminum alloy reach 742 MPa
