The processing parameters relationship and control method of electromagnetic low pressure casting for aluminum alloy have been investigated. The relationship between electromagnetic driving force and electric current as well as flux volume and electric current
and its mathematical model have been determined by experiment and mathematical analyses. Meanwhile
the properties of castings in electromagnetic low pressure casting and in conventional low pressure casting have been compared. It is found that the aluminum liquid flux volume of electromagnetic low pressure casting presents a strictly linear relation with the electrode current with a given magnetic inductivity. With a given electrode current
the aluminum liquid flux volume can be decreased with raising the height of liquid aluminum alloy outlet
which is helpful for improving the properties of electromagnetic low pressure castings. The accuracy of control process in electromagnetic low pressure casting is obviously superior to that in conventional low pressure casting.
