The observation of single-directional infiltration behavior of aluminum alloy melts in SiC particle performs has been conducted in squeezing castings. The results show that the flow front of aluminum melt exhibits a dynamic non-infiltration behavior with the surface of SiC particles in squeezing casting. The infiltration of the aluminum melt in the SiC particles is controlled by capillary effects
showing a selective infiltration behavior of gradually infiltrating different size particles with the increase of infiltrated pressure. Based on above-mentioned mechanism
the formation of microstructure of the composites was approached.
