Primordial technology for rudder horn steel castings of large ship has been designed according to the experiences of technological designer and simulated by using HUA ZHU CAE software. Based on the computer simulation
the design of the castings has been optimized by analyzing the simulation result. the result shows that the riser、chill and gating are allocated reasonably
and castings direct solidification can be ensured. Therefore the rudder horn steel casting could be produced according to classification of vessel standard.
