Multi-layer spray depositing 7075/SiCp composites was densified by cyclic pressing. The effects of pressing temperatures
transverse deformation rate and reduction rate on the densification of the composites billets have been examined
and the mechanical properties of the cyclic pressed composites were tested. The results indicate that the spray deposited 7075/SiCp composites exhibit desirable metallurgical bonding with cyclic pressing at 420 ℃. All the transverse deformation rate of front six layer lattices in the composites can reach 15% and the average reduction rate of every lattice is 23.3% in minimum value and 37.9 in maximum value with the transverse deformation rate of 15% and reduction rate of 31%. The tensile strength of the composites after one cyclic pressing is greatly superior to that of the initial ones
exhibiting excellent densification effects of cyclic pressing.
