The effects of the types of oxide ceramic moulds and particles size of oxide ceramics as well as heating power on surface roughness of Ti50Al alloy specimens were examined in the condition of electromagnetic field
and the formation mechanism of surface roughness was approached.It is found that under electromagnetic filed
the orders of surface roughness of Ti50Al alloys prepared in five kinds of ceramic moulds are as follows:Ra(Al2O3)>Ra(CaO)>Ra(ZrO2
CaO)>Ra(ZrO2
Y2O3)>Ra(Y2O3).Meanwhile
the surface roughness of Ti50Al alloy specimens is declined with decreasing in particle size of refractory and heating power.
