The effect of Ni on the microstructures and mechanical properties of heat-resistant cast Cu-Ni-Al alloy was analyzed by using optical microscope

hardness and compression test. The results show that the Brinell hardness HB
ultimate compression strength σbc and yield compression strength σ0.2pc of the alloy at room temperature increase by 25.2%
82% and 70.5%
respectively
with the increase in Ni content from 10% to 25%. Meanwhile
the Brinell hardness of the alloy at the elevated temperature 500 ℃ increases by 40%. The improvement of the mechanical properties of the alloy by increasing Ni content is attributed to the solution strength of Ni in the copper matrix and second-phase strength of the formation of some complex compounds.
