which is composed of α+η lamellar eutectoid and minor nano-ε dispersoids
of spray formed Zn-40Al-2Cu alloy can be observed by SEM (scanning electron microscope) and TEM.(transmission electron microscope) and XRD(X-ray diffraction). The tensile strength
hardness and elongation of extruded and heat treated alloy have been improved as a result of elimination of holes during deposition process. Wear experiment indicates that the frictional coefficient of the alloy is decreased with the increase of loading and is increased with increasing in wear rate. The wear mechanism is characterized by abrasion at a lower loading while it is characterized by adhesion and smearing wear at a higher loading. Compared with that of conventional as-cast Zn-40Al-2Cu alloy
the wear resistance of spray formed alloy after extruding and heat treatment can be greatly improved.
