Abstract
According to its crystal configuration
silicon materials for polar cell can be classified in monocrystalline silicon
multicrystalline silicon and amorphous silicon.The characteristics
history and present research status of three kinds of silicon materials were reviewed
and the related problems and future development were described.Three kinds of silicon materials possess their merits and dismerits as well as different applied field
and they would be developed with the development of silicon processing technology.It can be concluded that the multicrystalline silicon
silicon ribbon and thin film silicon will be dominant in PV market in the future owing to their high cost-performance ratios.
