Relationship between the microstructural evolution and plastic deformation mechanism of AZ61 magnesium alloy was investigated by extrusion and forging combined forming. The results indicate that dynamic recrystallization occurs in the AZ61 magnesium alloy by both extrusion and isothermal forging
leading to the generation of fine and homogeneous equiaxed grain. Yield strength

elongation of the formed alloy after T5 heat treatment reach 249MPa
