Heredity effects of fine-grained materials in ZAlSi7Mg1 alloy in sand casting were examined.Heredity of fine-grained structure was confirmed by comparatively analyzing microstructure and mechanical properties of re-molten ZAlSi7Mg1 alloy ingot in sand casting and in permanent mold casting.Heredity effects of 10% squeezing-forging fine-grained ZAlSi7Mg1 alloy on structure and mechanical properties of the alloy in sand casting were examined.The results show that the structure of ZAlSi7Mg1 alloy in sand casting can be evidently refined by adding 10% squeezing-forging fine-grained ZAlSi7Mg1 materials with holding for 20 min.
