containing different Co contents were prepared by mechanical alloying method. Density
hardness
electric conductivity
thermal conductivity
thermal expansion coefficient and microstructure of the prepared Mo-Cu alloy were tested and observed to understand effects of Co element on densification and microstructure as well as properties of the alloy. The results show that the inert-phase Co7Mo6 is created between Co and Mo
Cu element
which is beneficial to the decrease of densification temperature
and the relative density of the Mo-Cu alloy reaches 97.7% with sintering at 1250℃. With increasing in Co element
the hardness of the Mo-Cu alloy is increased with the observed decrease of electric conductivity and thermal conductivity
however
the thermal expansion coefficient shows the slight fluctuation
which is near to that of Al2O3 ceramics. In addition
the microstructure of the Mo-Cu alloy exhibits homogeneous fine network structure.
