The majority of gas hole in investment casting carbon steel parts belongs to reactive gas hole,which is originated from the oxidation-reduction reaction between carbon and FeO. Measures of controlling the reactive gas hole were presented,including rational gating system and controlling pouring temperature,enhancing furnace discharge management.
