Microstructure and properties of die casting Ag-Mg-Ni alloy ring were investigated.It is found that although die casting Ag-Mg-Ni alloy ring exhibits near-net forming
there exist amounts of holes in the ring.Thickness of fine grain region in the alloy reaches up to 300~400μm
and Mg and Ni elements are uniformly distributed into the alloy in the absence of segregation.The density
hardness and electric conductivity of die casting Ag-Mg-Ni ring are 10.078 g/cm 3
44.6(HV0.2) and 43 MS/m
respectively
which are lower than those of casting-hot extrusion ones.
