The position of thermalcouple’s installition in copper refining furnace directly affects its measurement performance and temperature identification precision.The closer to the inside wall it’s placed
the more precisely temperature is measured
however
thermocouple’s temperature drift error will increase.Based on investigating optimum experimental design theory and thermocouple characteristics
temperature measurement optimum location criterion is presented to determine an optimal location.A nonlinear transient heat transfer model of copper furnace wall in the horizontal direction was established based on the Fronier theory and multi-layer wall characteristics.A FEM simulation was conducted based on Comsol Mutipfysics and Matlab softwares to understand wall heat transfer characteristics.Finally
the criteria distribution was calculated to find out the optimal measurement position in the minimum point by the simulation calculation.
