Effects of Aging Processes on the Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of Roll Casting Cu-Be Alloy
The Cu-0.33 Be alloy was treated by solid solution at 960 ℃ for 60 min and different aging processes. The changing law of hardness
tensile strength and tensile fracture morphology of Cu-0.33 Be alloy under forging condition and during aging process were investigated. The results indicate that aging treatment can significantly enhance the tensile strength and hardness of Cu-0.33 Be alloy
which reach up to 661.6 MPa and 207(HB)
respectively
after aging at 460 ℃ for 60 min.The grain is fine with aging for 60 min
which grows as the aging time increases. The fracture morphology is characterized by ductile fracture in forging state
which is gradually converted to brittle fracture with the extension of aging time. After peak aging
the fracture is typical brittle intergranular fracture.
