Abstract

Aiming at improving the design and manufacture quality of motorcycle frame

based on prototype of a welded motorcross frame

a integrated precision casting motorcross frame was developed by reasonable design of frame structure and casting technology.FEM analysis shows that strength and stiffness in limit static analysis and frequency of free modal analysis of the whole casting frame are obviously superior to those of the initial ones. The trial-made frame products present the satisfied quality

and its fatigue life is increased significantly and its weight is reduced by 5%compared with the original frame. The results show that large thin-walled integrated precision casting technology is of important significance to improve product quality

reduce cost and increase production efficiency.
