Abstract

The structure characteristics of 3 000 kN vertical semi-solid squeeze casting machine was described. The rheological process of aluminum alloy and the structure and properties of the aluminum alloy parts formed by rheological process combined with indirect squeeze casting were investigated. The results reveal that the vertical semi-solid squeeze casting machine is composed of bottom feeding

indirect squeeze casting and two-pressurization in the inner cavity.Entrapped-gas can be avoided by squeeze casting at the bottom.By the two-pressurization in the inner cavity of die

the solidified metal can be compensated effectively

and the microstructure and properties of the workpiece can be improved remarkably.
