Abstract

Based on the structure of cast copper cooling stave

two kinds of gating systems were designed

and the casting process was simulated by the ProCAST software in order to visualize the casting defects. And then

the process was optimized based on the simulated results

and the final casting process of cast copper cooling stave was determined. The trial production shows that the cast copper cooling stave can meet the requirement.
