Finite Element Analysis of Parameters for Die Casting Aluminum Alloy Gear Box
ProCAST software with pressure chamber flow analysis was used to visually adjust the die casting parameters
which was closer to the actual production environment. Experiments with different parameters in the software was carried out. The results show that the optimized processing parameters are presented as follows: low-pressure speed of 0.2 m/s
the high-speed switching point of 630 mm
and the high-pressure speed of 5 m/s. The parameters was verified by a 32 000 kN Buhler die-casting machine
and results reveal that the die-cast gear box presents the satisfeid appearance
and absence of defects such as cold shut and pores can be observed. X-ray detection shows that absence of shrinkage holes and other defects can be observed inside the castings.
