The method of smelting Al-Li Alloy by inserting solid lithium into liquid aluminium alloy is studied. The experiment prores that if the liquid metal is fully protected from oxidation
the loss of Li can be reduced greatly. The flux of 40%LiF and 60%LiCl is proved to be better than that of 50%LiF and 50%LiCl by DTA technique. By blowing high pure argon into the liquid Al-Li Alloy
it can be refind and only a little loss of Li is found in the process.
