    Abstract

    The solidification mechanism of horizontal continuous casting of steel round rod has been discussed in this paper. A twodimensional axissymetrical heat transfer model has been adopted for the calculation and analysis of the growth of primary shell. And the experimental results show that the model is satisfactory.
