The influence of Cd content in Al-Cu cast alloy on its microstructure and distribution has been studied.The results show that

if Cd is less than 0.3%

it will be distributed well

θ″and θ′phas- es will be fine and uniform when the alloy is aged at 175 C

if not

it will be concentrated with its con- tent raised

θ″ and θ′phases will be increased in size and interval at the same ageing temperature

but decreased in quantity.
