The precent progress for Al alloy casting is reviewed. It is pointed out that the mold and core making technology will be developed rapidly in order to meet the need of increasing Al castings in automobile industry. There is a main tendency for Al castings to develop binders for mold and core, improve collapsibility of mold （or core） sand as well as prevent from environment pollution.
