The development of TiAl intermetallics as the high temperature structural materials was generally outlined and the melting process for TiAl intermetallics which has high reactivity alloys were reviewed emphatically. The induction melting technique with water cooling copper crucible is the best one for melting TiAl intermetallics with negligible composition deviation.
