Properties and Preparation of Diecasting TiC/AlSi9Cu 1.4Mg 0.5 Composite
The die-casting TiC/AlSi9Cu1.4Mg0.5 composite has been prepared successfully by both smelting in-situ reaction and die casting tec hnique. The mechanical properties of the composites were measured. The results showed that t he ultimate tensile strength of the die casting TiC/AlSi9Cu1.4Mg0.5 composites w ith 354 MPa at room temperature and 272 MPa at 260 ℃
are higher by 26% and 46% than those of the matrix alloy(280 MPa and 186 MPa)respec ti vely. The elongation of the die casting composite at room temperature and 260 ℃ are comparable to those of the conventional AlSi9Cu 1.4Mg0.5 alloy.
