Abstract
The development of semi-solid casting technology for M g alloy was surve yed. The application prospect and significance of this forming technology in China was evaluated also. The latest research progress of numerical simulatio n for semi-solid process was introduced briefly. Finally
some critical problem s to be solved for semi-solid forming technology of Mg alloy in China were p roposed.
