Contraction Characteristics of Cast Aluminum Matrix Composite
The linear contraction characteristics SiC particulate reinforced cast aluminum matrix composite F 3B was studied. The linear contraction of three kinds of F3B composite (φ(SiC)=10%
20%
30% respectively) and their correspondent matrix alloy were measured by means of“direct measurement” and “ZQS 2000 twin bar alloy hot crack linear contraction apparatus”. The results showed that the three F 3B composites have better linear contraction characteristics than the correspondent matrix alloys. The linear contraction rate of the three F3B composites decreases with the increase of SiC content.
