The scrap ratio of floating sealing rings with high CrMo white cast iron was about 45% in ceramic mold. The reason of scrap formation was attributed to the composition far from eutectic point and heating calibration circle through statistic analysis and metallographic observation. The total scrap ratio of floating sealing ring decreased below 10% through controlling the iron melt composition, canceling heating calibration circle and adjusting production procedure so as to obtain the good technic economic benefits.
