Abstract
The morphology of wear surface and sub-surface of the network ceramic reinforced aluminum matrix composite was analyzed. The results s howed that the wear mechanism of composite is more complex than that of the matrix alloy. Both the cohesion wear and abrasion occurr simultaneously. Also oxidation occurs in the wear process. The composite has higher wear-resistance than the matrix alloy because the partial load is subjected to ceramic particle and mechanical mixture layer is formed on the surface.
