Abstract

Developing survey of traditional unidirectional solidification was reviewed and its shortcomings were presented. Development of novel technologies in unidirectional solidification was introduced at home. Latest progress in unidirectional solidification research was surveyed at home under the conditions of electric field

natural and forced convections

varying growth rate and melt superheating. The developing tendency of unidirectional solidification was predicted.
