3D Numerical Simulation for Flowing Field Coupled with Temperature Field in Strip Rolling-casting Mould
A 3-D mathematical model for flowing field coupled with temperature field in strip twin rolling-casting process is developed
and the effects of processing parameters on roll-casting process were studied. The results showed that relevant homogeneous structure in thickness direction of the strip can be obtained with lower superheat while the metal was solidified in gating system to obstruct inclusion removal with too low superheat. Solidified end-point can be just located at the range of 2~8 mm above the anastomosing point of roll gap when rolling-casting velocity is at a certain ranges of v ≤ v c.The proposed model can lay down a theoretical foundation for controlling strip rolling-casting process.
