    Abstract

    Aimed at the features of various defects encountered in trial-production of cast Mg alloy housing, the corresponding countermeasures were given to produce qualified casting through analyzing the formation mechanism and influencing factors. The experiment showed that the key processing parameters of Mg alloy in squeezing casting depended on pouring temperature, mould temperature, specific pressure, initially pressurized time after pouring and holding pressure time. The proper processing parameters were specified as follows: pouring temperature of 690~720 ℃, mould temperature of 200~250 ℃, initially pressurized time of 3~5 s after pouring and holding pressure time of 10~20 s.
