The EPS pattern is used for carbon steel castings in drying sand mould under negative pressure. The factors influencing carburization in carbon steel castings under various processing conditions in EPC were studied systematically.It was found that carburization in carbon steel casting occured using silica flour,alumina powder and zirconium powder coatings,of which less carburization appeared with silica flour coating.The carburization increased with casting height increase in bottom pouring.In addition,the carburization decreased with vacuum rate increase.
