    Abstract

    Effects of holding time on ZL102 liquid aluminum alloy quality in practical production were studied. Relation between holding time and modification effect and pin-porosity was approached. The results indicated that the optimum Sr modified effect occured for about 60 min. The loss of Sr during holding is about 0.002%/h with holding time increase, so the modification effect can extend to 6~7 h.The minimum pin-porosity and optimum liquid Al quality can be obtained for 30~90 min after modification.
