Abstract
The Zn-Al alloy matrix composites were prepared by high-intensity ultrasonic dilution of XD denoted in situ composites. The experiment showed that the tensile strength of the composites with particles of homogeneous distribution in the matrix was much higher than that of the matrix. The strengthening mechanism was attributed to Orowan theory. The evenly diluted strengthening phase of XD composites by high-intensity ultrasonic resulted from the cavitation in association with acoustic stream.
