Phase in Grain Boundary of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu-Li Alloy Containing High Zn
There exists a large amounts of second phases in grain boundary of as cast microstructure of Al-11.8Zn-2.9Mg-2.6Cu- 1.17Lialloy containing high Zn. A lot of network phase still remain in grain boundary after homogenization at 420 ℃ for 24 h.It is difficult to dissolve the phase into the matrix by solid solution treatment at elevated temperature due to its low melting point at 490 ℃.It is found by X-rays and EDX that the phases rich in Zn and Cu is possible quasicrystal with similar structure to Al 5Li 3Cu phase.
