Effects of Different Al-Ti Master Alloys on Grain Refinement for 6063 Alloy
Al-5Ti-1B and Al-B+electrolyzed low Ti-Al master alloys
on grain refinement for 6063 Al alloy with different Ti content were compared. It was showed that all master alloys can obviously refine the 6063 Al alloy and the grain size became finer gradually with Ti content increase. The refining effect with electrolyzed Ti-Al master alloy was superior to that with Al-5Ti master alloy in the modified Al-alloy with the same Ti content while the refining effect with both electrolyzed Ti-Al and Al-B master alloys was superior to Al-5Ti-B master alloy in the modified Al alloy with the same Ti content.
