The micro deformation of Cu base frictional materials obtained with powder metallurgy under impact load was conducted on Hopkinson pressure bar with confined pressure and non confined pressure in the range of strain rate (10 2~10 3)/s.The impacted specimen was analyzed by SEM and X ray diffraction. The results showed that the slip dislocation was dominated in plastic deformation of the materials with defects under non confined pressure
showing the macro morphology with impact brittle damage and fracture along with grain boundary while plastic deformation was attributed to the combination of slip dislocation with turbulent pattern and twin-crystal in the matrix under confined pressure.
