fracture morphology and corrosion performance of magnesium alloy wastes have been studied by ICP spectroscopy

material testing machine and corrosion test.It was found that the Fe in the wastes can be decreased to below 0.004% and the tensile strength and elongation of the alloy can be improved using the fluxes with Na

.Corrosion test indicated that the corrosion rate of the alloy can be decreased to 0.3 mg·cm
-2
·d
-1
by the flux with 20% Na
2
B
4
O
7
.The SEM and XRD results showed that purification treatment has a slightly effect on the fracture morphology and phase constituent.It was believed that the Fe removal by Na
2
B
4
O
7
was contributed to the reaction between Fe with B to form a deposited compound.
