Progress in Numerical Simulation of Solidification of Particle Reinforced Metal Matrix Composites
Progress in both macro and micro numerical simulations of solidification of particle reinforced metal matrix composites was reviewed.A multi-phase field model coupled with mass
momentum
energy and solute conservation equation was introduced to apply for macro simulation.Critical velocity model for the micro simulation was given
and key factors were presented to accurate prediction of interaction of particles solidification interface and microstructure.The existing problems and development tendency in the field were pointed out also.
