Thixoforming of the 2A12/SiCp Ceramic Matrix Composites in Pseudo-semi-solid State
Thixoforming of pseudo-semi-solid ceramic matrix composites was investigated by combining semi-solid metal forming technology with ceramic matrix composites forming based on powder metallurgy. The satellite angle-frames were made of Al/SiCp composites with different volume fractions of 2Al12 alloy by the new method. The results show that the satellite angle-frames possess a homogeneously distributed microstructure and higher hardness as well as certain plasticity.
